Ignacia Mesa
Ignacia Mesa’s etchings and ink drawings are inspired in photographs that the artist herself takes in places where the decadence, the destruction and its natural debris are a strength.
Old streets of the city full of painful stories, potentially and absolutely unknown to us, burned factories, demolished buildings about to become the next shopping mall of the town are re-constructed by way of the engraving alchemy and the evocation of the image-making.
Ignacia Mesa work have been displayed in many Museums and Galleries around the world: Casa de las Américas (La Habana, Cuba); Conarte (Monterrey, Mexico); Rotary Club (Aqui Terme, Piamonte, Italia); Bangkok Triennale International Print and Drawing Exhibition, Silpakorn University, (Bangkok, Tailandia); Els Catòlics. Sala El Caliu, Olot (Girona, España); el City Hall de Sibiu (Transilvania, Rumania)
